A legend embodies passion. A legend has depth, character and integrity. A legend is adored by many, worshipped by some, and respected by all.

A legend changes the way you live, inspires and frees you. A legend waits until the moment comes when you call upon it to shape your future. Until the moment you decide: LET'S RIDE!

LADIES OF HARLEY FRIENDSHIP JOURNEY - 14 March 2009

Tina Betsakos gives her reportback on the Ladies of Harley Friendship Journey to Hugo's in Kyalami

51 Ladies of Harley, familiar and new, got together for a morning to remember.   The upstairs pub turned into a lecture room with an absolute "chick vibe". And we know what that sounds like!!!

After everyone had a relaxing cup of coffee and a ruskie or two, at 09h30 Lynda Lograsso gave us the most phenominal talk on dream interpretation.  Learning to understand our dreams, using our intuition to interpret the meaning given to us, and the significance of certain messages in our dreams.  The girls were riveted.  The talk was supposed to be for half an hour, but an hour later we were still listening in awe at Lynda's experiences, and her explanation of some of our experiences.

At 10h45 nine ladies on their bikes, followed by 51 - 9 = 42 ladies in cars (where are their bikes???) left for Hugo's in Kyalami.  If you were riding next to Nikki Walker and listening to her Country-Western music about some grandma's house on the bayou, you would have been very grateful you were in your car!

We took a short 20km route down Rivonia Road, left into Witkoppen, right into Main, right into Kyalami Road and left into Hugo's, our lunch venue.  A short ride, but quiteeventful.  It's not often that motorists see a bunch of girls riding on their own.  They just checked every face with disbelief and confirmation that we were all girls.

We arrived at Hugo's and took a seat in a private dining room, ready for part 2 of our “Start of a Friendship Journey”.  Lynda spoke to us about living from the heart and not from the head, and how the head is just an instrument of the heart.  She used an amazing analogy of our lives being like an orange, and how each and every one of us have a dark and a light side.  How we should not judge others by a single "wedge" of the orange, but by the whole orange.

Lynda called on a few of the girls to demonstrate how energy eminates from our bodies and the effect of negative and positive energy. Another interesting thing that came out of this for me personally, was that we as humans are so scared of expressing certain feelings for fear that our opinions or feelings will not be accepted by others.  The person sitting next to you can be going through terrible suffering and no-one knows.  As human beings we tend to keep things to ourselves and I wonder if that's because we get so wrapped up in our own lives, that the suffering of others is in our opinion, nowhere near as important as our own suffering.  We should understand the hardships of others, and that will guide us to the solution of our own.   My gosh, such philosophical preachings from a biker chick…. what next!!??

After a 30-minute meditation, the girls opened their eyes and there was silence.  Rejuvinated, relaxed and in a state of absolute tranquility, we got our delicious meal and had a few very welcome refreshments

What an inspirational way to spend a Saturday…. listening to the voice of your soul.

See you on the road!
Tina
